What welding projects are you working on? Are you proud of something you built?
How about posting some pics so other welders can get some ideas?

"Holding pens"?
That looks a lot like a prison in the background...
Would "People cages" be more accurate?

I'm happy to say that that's the only island in NYC that I've never been on.

So will you be building any of these for " Stockton " - seems like they need some now that " Clay Morrow " is incarcerated ! - & be careful not to leave any screwdrivers laying around !
All joking aside you get some varied & unusual work - but you'd think they could have afforded some clean new material for you to work with - that looks like they lucked out at a junkyard & found it !

don't even get me started on the material situation! i was t.d.y. to this unit and had nothing to do with purchasing material. the 2x2 tubing was the lightest wall available and was laying around for at least 1 winter so was almost rusted through before we set the first piece. in contrast- at my regular duty station i use 3/16 or 1/4 wall tubing for prison gates and pens that will never see a drop of weather.noddybrian wrote:So will you be building any of these for " Stockton " - seems like they need some now that " Clay Morrow " is incarcerated ! - & be careful not to leave any screwdrivers laying around !
