just a bit of a photo dump

the steel trailer parts i was doing a while back
the orange thing is something i fixed. look like someone had a go and probably used 316 on mild steel, and over cooked it. almost every weld was cracked.
the other pic is my repair. grind out welds and used 312 stick welded.
and a couple of non IG worthy stainless parts knocked up.

Golly Tweake,,,lookin at those cracked welds makes me kinda jealous. I don't think I could make a line that straight if I used a straight edge.

yeah i was surprised at that to. not all where like that, but most. a few small welds where ok.
knowing where it came from i think the previous maintenance guy used a really small tig and just went super slow building up a big weld.

i think its a good illustration of using an incorrect filler.

small update:
i had a look at the orange thing today. those small welds i didn't redo because there where not cracked, are now cracked.
