I am 90% sure it is due to a low operating voltage. But honestly for anyone not pipe welding, 6011 ought to do most everything a 6010 does. Here are the specs from Lincoln. It seems awfully darn close to me.

I believe it should be some inverters won't run them.

The ones I have now all run them fine.

I had a miller maxstar 150s that would not run them, or just barely if the arc was super tight.
Miller said it just wasn't designed to.

Inverters with arc force or dig settings will run them fine. They arc force or dig just adds a little voltage sometime to keep the rod going.

My miller 150 stl at work runs it fine. So does my thermal arc 186 at home. My Lincoln 210 mp can run it but it doesn't do it well.

It's more like: most small, home hobby type stick/TIG inverter machines won't run 6010. Of course there are exceptions like the ESAB 161. It fits the description above, but does run 6010. Once you get into the $1500+ stick/TIG machines then the likelihood of being able to run 6010 increases substantially. If you're playing around with $100-$300 mickey mouse welders, then you'll get frustrated very quickly.

My Everlast Power arc200 has an extra positive port for 6010. It's supposedly higher inbuilt arcforce or something. 6010s are not very popular to joe pinchpail off the the street over here.

I was wondering what 6010s required differently in electric output and what causes it(composition?).

I have no idea what the correct terms are so thank you for your help.

My AHP 160ST will run 6010 to some degree how ever it takes a tight arc and the pentration is not as good. how ever my everlast 200ST will run 6010 very well. infact good enough to see them to cut steel. the main thing is that a inverter needs to be made to run E6010 and it also needs a good power source to run them good.. IE no long extension cords on 110V or it needs to run off 220V

With that kind of schedule you must get quadruple time and a half for anything over 90 hours a week.

Oh, and it runs Lincolns way better than the off-brands. 5P+, 6P+ is the way to go.

6P?...What is that?...8010? How did they come up with 5p designation and such anyway? Just curious

5p and 6p are both different versions of the same rod. Think it's just slight diferances in the flux.

I love running stick on my Syncrowave. I actually like it just as much as a Lincoln Idealarc round top, that I got to try once.
