we gave him a how to book on the proper welding technique but after looking at his welds I guess it's a good thing he stays in the office as much as he does. Although he is coming along nicely taking baby steps and all, and we feel we can bring him up to speed if we don't retire first.

Here at work today we were amazed and very proud of Jonathan he got out of his office and away from his books and set a new record of welds produced by him in a single day. we counted at least eight, now this might not sound like much but lets consider it's four times more weld than he usually puts ...

just to let you all know we are not inexperience welders between the two of us that have the failed tests there is over 40 years welding experience and as everyone knows if you have never failed a weld test you haven't taken very many at all. My personal opinion is to wear a nice shirt and jeans don't overkill just be ready if they want you to take a weld test that day. This being said because of several interviews I've been on the employer wanted a weld test done the same day.

good day everyone I'm Tony and just wanted to say hi. My question for the day is on 6G pipe. When 6010 is used for the root and hot pass, Is the hot pass just a filler pass, or does it require one to turn up the amps to push into the root pass to make it stronger?
